Angel investor Dave McClure opened the #EstonianMafia Wall of Fame in Garage48 HUB

October 01, 2012
Prominent US investor and famous startup geek Dave McClure opened #EstonianMafia Wall of Fame in Garage48 HUB, putting more than 40 thriving tech startups under the spotlight.

The nickname "Estonian mafia" first came up when Date McClure, founder of Silicon Valley investment fund 500Startups, was impressed by the number of Estonians in Seedcamp finals in London in 2011. The phrase has caught on and got widespread publicity in media across the globe, supporting many Estonian startup success stories.
Inspired by McClures phrase, Garage48 decided to gather the best of Estonian tech startups and put their names up for everyone to see in the HUB. Wall of Fame presents Erply, GrabCAD, Creative Mobile, Pipedrive, Modesat, Zerply and many other notable Estonian tech startups.
McClure was in Estonia with the Geeks on a Plane Eastern European tour that visited European startup hubs like Moscow, Tallinn, Berlin and Zagreb. Garage48 HUB hosted full house party to celebrate the geeks in Tallinn.
